Casual Friday – Blog Action Day: Water - Radiant

The Radiant Blog

Posted by Andrew VanderPloeg

Just like the last two October 15th's, today marks our involvement in Blog Action Day.

As communicated on the website for this event, "Blog Action Day is an annual event held every October 15 that unites the world's bloggers in posting about the same issue on the same day with the aim of sparking a global discussion and driving collective action."

This year the topic being highlighted is: Water.

It's a topic that I personally have been thinking about quite a bit lately as evidenced by my post on this blog back on September 3rd.

Consider the fact that a BILLION people across the world don't have access to clean, safe drinking water. Millions contract deadly diseases from contaminated water. 45,000 people will die this week alone. The lucky ones won't, but still walk hours each day to get dirty water to give to their families.

And all we have to do is just turn on our tap.

The problem is real, it is massive and it is entirely solvable.

Be a part of the solution. Take part in Blog Action Day yourself. Register your blog at blogactionday.change.com and raise awareness by writing a post about this issue on your blog.

Also, consider contributing to an organization like charity: water either directly or feel free to use my ongoing campaign which will filter funds to their work in Africa.

Whatever compels you, whether it be your morals, a spiritual conviction or an experience that has brought this home to you in a personal way, this marks an opportunity to be involved in helping people who desperately need help...don't let it just pass you by.
