Jesus Christ & The 2012 Olympics

Over the last week, millions of eyes have been fixed on the Olympic games held in London, England. Athletes from around the world have united, each with their own dreams and aspirations of standing on the podium and watching their flag being raised.

The truth of the matter is though, that more people leave with shattered dreams than fulfilled ones. Things that were "supposed to go right", all go wrong. Routines fail, health waivers, bikes crash, judge's blow calls, other athletes are more superior, and for many, the pressure is simply too much.

In reality, the Olympics are much like our daily lives: People fail us, we fail ourselves, our health waivers, we crash, others misinterpret us, someone is always better than us; the pressure can be too much.

Thankfully though, we have a God that's much bigger than all of that, one that has already claimed victory for us.

Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 15:57, "But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ."

Because at the end of the day, everything else is inconsequential. Life will fail us. If not now, then eventually. You are not immortal.

Jesus said, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." (John 14:6)

Put your trust in Him and claim victory now and forevermore.
